Fall is in the air. Beautiful weather today. Kids are in school. If you are a parent of school-age children, you are probably (or hopefully) back into a routine - set schedules (no more sleeping in!) - car pools organized - calendar color coded with numerous commitments - and much more.
Where do you fit in? Looking back over your summer, how would you grade your workouts? Did you get an "A" for being AAAAmazingly consistent? Or ... were you somewhere at the other end - like a grade "F" for being in a real "funk" or somewhere in between - a "C" for "compliant, but not really committed" ? Now, with school in, how are you doing so far? Are you still struggling with "those reasons" (aka excuses) for not getting outside for a power walk or keeping your commitment with a workout partner or simply getting to your fitness class?
If that's you - be encouraged! Just take a baby step today. Maybe it is pushing aside a chore that can be done later and being determined to get movin' - even if it is just for 10-15 minutes. Or, if you have a desk job, take a brisk walk instead of going to the breakroom. That is a start! Think of how you feel after being active. Remember - you are worth it. It's time to take yourself off the back burner - and put yourself on the front burner ... fired up and ready to put being fit and healthy at the top of your list!
